Hermès Scarf 90 cm – Sieste au Paradis – Aline Honoré (2015)

Issued in 2015 and never reissued, Sieste au Paradis (A Nap in Paradise) is a scarf designed by Aline Honoré that invites daydreaming. At the centre, a landscape of pines and cliffs evokes Chinese prints; all around, a teeming border of mandala-like seashells tips the eye into an almost psychedelic marine world. Here we find Aline Honoré’s signature: meticulous motifs, bold colours and that touch of imagination that characterises her line.

Of all the colourways issued, this is undoubtedly the most beautiful palette: an electric fuchsia cutting across pearly greys, contrasted with amber yellows and orange accents, edged with a contrasting pink hand-rolled hem that heightens its brilliance. An extremely rare scarf, issued in very small numbers and quickly sold out on release. Excellent overall condition, with box. Two tiny signs of time are described below in full transparency.

Sieste au Paradis is a scarf I find singular within the Hermès collection. Aline Honoré blends two worlds that have no reason to meet: the Chinese landscape and the marine daydream. The fuchsia is powerful without being aggressive, the greys give the design depth, and the contrasting pink hem crowns the whole. Above all, it is one of the scarves I have been looking for the longest: issued in very small numbers, it is almost impossible to find. A true collector’s piece for those who love pictorial, rare and slightly dreamy Hermès designs.
